Hey all. Who of all you guys perticipated in DOS? Wait...what in the world is DOS??? Well...DOS stands for Day of Silence...WHOA!!! What in the world is Day of silence? Your probably thinking its just a day where you can just be quiet or something.....Nope Day of silence or DOS is a day to rember Lawrence King well ok Who in the world is Lawrence king?.... Here is what my note from school said about DOS....
DAY OF SILENCE
Please understand my reasons for not speeking today. I am participating in the Day of Silence(DOS), a national youth movement bringing attention to the silence faced by lesbian,gay,bisexual, and transgender people and there allies. My deliberate silence echoes that silence, which is caused by anti-LGBT(Lesbian,Gay,Bisexual,Transgender) bullying, name calling and harassment. This year's DOS is held in memory of Lawrence King, a 15 year old student who was killed in school because of his sexual orientation and gender expression. I belive that ending the silence is the first step toward building awareness and making a commitment to address these injustices. Think about the voices you are not hearing today...
What are you going to do to end the silence??
So I hope that kinda cleers things up about DOS... Now i dont know about any of you guys but me and alot of my friends perticipated in this years DOS and we are proud of it...
